KWFT is run by a committed and professional Board of Directors, who are well grounded in microfinance, banking, law, finance, entreprenuership, education, among others and have a passion for building and contributing to systems that empower the majority; and in particular women’s empowerment and development.

Mary Ngatia Vice Chair, Board of Directors
Mrs. Mary Ngatia has served in the Board since June 2006. She holds a Bsc. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, USA and an MBA in Strategic Management from Moi University. She is a retired Banker and brings to KWFT a wealth of experience in the Banking industry, having served the National Bank of Kenya in various capacities and rising through the ranks to the position of General Manager, Business Support Services in 2006. She has also served in several Boards. |

Mwangi Githaiga Managing Director
Mwangi Githaiga has served the Institution for the last 16 years and has risen through the ranks to the Managing Director position. He holds a Masters of Business Administration degree, specializing in Strategic Management from Moi University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Dr. Jennifer Riria Board Member
Dr. Jennifer Riria is a board member and the Group Chief Executive of Kenya Women Holding Company Ltd (KWH). Dr. Riria has been in KWFT since 1991. She is a PHD holder and a distinguished Microfinance Banker and Practitioner, Researcher, and Gender Specialist. She has been recognized nationally for her contribution in development and has been awarded a Presidential award of “Moran of the Burning Spear”, (MBS), a national medal, certificate of contribution. She is currently the Board Chair for Womens World Banking (WWB) and the Board Chair of AMFI.

Charity Muya Board Member
Charity Muya has served in the Board since November 2002. She holds an MBA from University of Nairobi and is a Fellow of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), a Certified Public Secretary (CPS) among others. She has over thirty five years experience in Financial Management. She has served in many other Boards including being a council member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Nyambura Musyimi Board Member
Mrs. Nyambura Musyimi joined the Board in September 2011. Mrs. Musyimi is the Founding and Managing Partner of Musyimi & Company Advocates with over 30 years experience in Commercial and Conveyancing Law Practice. She is also an ardent Advocate for children’s rights and has founded the Little Angles Network and Maisha Kara Trust both advocating for the rights of vulnerable children. She brings to KWFT a wealth of experience in the Law Practice, having began her legal career at the State Law Office, then, KENYAC as in-house Counsel and Company Secretary before embarking on managing the Firm of Musyimi & Company. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi and Diploma from the Kenya School of Law and is undertaking a EMBA with the Copenhagen Business School. She is a Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public, a Certified Public Secretary (K) and a member of the Institute of Arbitrators .Nyambura is also a recipient of Presidential Commendation for Service Award.

Zippora Mogaka Board Member
Mrs. Zipporah Mogaka joined the Board in September 2011. She holds a Masters in Laws and a Bachelor of Laws both from the University of Nairobi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies from the Kenya School of Law. Mrs. Mogaka is the General Manager for Legal and Remedial Division at National Bank of Kenya with over 12 years experience in Commercial and Conveyancing Law Practice and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She brings to KWFT a wealth of experience in the Law Practice, having worked at the Attorney General’s Chamber, Kenya Industrial Estates, Kenya National Capital Corporation in Legal Services and Company Secretary. She is a Commissioner for Oaths, Notary Public and a CPS (K).

Rachel Dzombo Board Member
Rachel Dzombo joined the KWFT Board in July 2008 and holds Bachelor of Arts in social sciences. She is retired permanent secretary in the ministry of gender, sports, culture and social services. She is currently the executive director of Danicha Investment Limited.

Julie Topirian Njeru
Board member
Mrs. Julie Topirian Njeru joined the Board in December 2011. Mrs. Njeru is a retired public servant, having served the Government of Kenya in both Civil Service and State Corporations for 30 years in the Ministry of Education, Kenya Wildlife Service, Kenya Tourist Board and Kenya Tourist Development Corporation and is currently self employed. She brings to KWFT a wealth of experience in administration and development matters at grassroots level. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Diploma in Cultural Tourism both from the University of Nairobi and is undertaking Executive MBA at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Grace Kabibi Ngala Board Member
Grace Kabibi Ngala joined the KWFT board in July 2008 and holds masters in public administration and Bachelor of Arts in sociology. She also holds a diploma in sociology. Grace is an administrator of family businesses in supplies, shares, an NGO and a foundation. Grace previously worked for Kenya-Re and National Housing Corporation.
